When ingested, hydrochloric acid can cause damage to the stomach, mucus membranes and esophagus, which can result in diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Hydrochloric Acid 35% Application:

Hydrochloric acid 35%, or muriatic acid, is an extremely corrosive compound used in the production of chlorides, fertilizers and dyes, and in a wide range of applications in the photographic, textile and rubber industries. It is also used to prepare various food products and to regulate the pH level in manufacturing and treatment processes. It can be used to remove rust from steel sheet or coil for industrial processing and to manufacture compounds such as Vinyl Chloride and Dichloroethane, which are used to produce PVC, or Polyvinyl Chloride. It is also used to produce inorganic compounds for water treatment including drinking water and waste water and for neutralizing the water in swimming pools. Hydrochloric acid is also found in the Digestive System in the form of gastric acid. Gastric acid is used by the Human Digestive System to help break down food contents by activating digestive enzymes in the stomach.
